Turner FM scoops Golden ServiceAward


Company awarded for ‘key role in superb environmental performance’


Turner FacilitiesManagement has been key tomaking the Newsprinters Knowsley site an industry leader in environmental per- formance. It’s an achievement which was recognised with the Diversey Environmen- tal Awareness Award, presented as part of the 2013 Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards. “The cleaning andmaintenance sector can


play a huge role in improving the environ- mental performance of every industry it works in and Turner has given us all a great example to follow,” said Stephen Kerr, re- gional sales leader for UK, Ireland,Nordic and Benelux at Kimberly-Clark Professional. The Newsprinters Knowsley site was


born out of, and on, the existing News UK site at Prescot on the outskirts of Liverpool. Operating since the summer of 2007, the new plant is spread over 26 acres and housed in 88,000 squaremeters are five Manroland Colorman XXL presses which are capable of producing 430,000 newspa- per copies every hour.

The five new Colorman presses are fed by


up to 220 plates an hour fromeach of five Agfa CTP lines, and each press is installed inmanufacturing lines, configured in pairs of five units on either side of two folders, plus a single press of five units with its own dedicated folder.
