WORLD RESPONSIBLE TOURISM AWARDS


The Responsible Tourism Awards celebrated their 10th anniversary with a new name and eight new categories selected to champion the most crucial issues in responsible tourism today. Water, climate change, child protection, accessible tourism and volunteering were at the heart of this year’s responsible tourism programme, which works to identify how the travel and tourism industry can tackle these crucial issues.

Recognised for its vital contribution to tackling child abuse and sex tourism. Brazil, TUI Nederland in conjunction with many partners, launched the ‘NO to child sex tourism in the Northeast of Brazil’ campaign. The tour operator works to fight child exploitation with a range of much-needed measures such as the introduction of trained outreach Youth Mobilizers.
