Sailing club chooses anticorrosion cubicles
DATCHET Water Sailing Club is set on an inland reservoir overlooking Windsor Castle in Berkshire. The sailing water is 475 acres in
diameter making it one of the largest inland areas in Southern England providing a wide range of sailing events from junior through to large international competitions. The recently refurbished waterside clubhouse features Kemmlit’s Variocell cubicle system. Variocell is a tough, durable, stylish cubicle system and easy to
maintain. Its anticorrosion features make it ideally suited for wet area applications, all the qualities project architects Martins Camasuli were looking for. The Variocell cubicle system specified features 30 mm composite elements of aluminium (also available in steel) with a sound absorbing inlay. The doors and walls were finished in Anthracite with contrasting satin anodised aluminium fittings.

OPENED 27 years ago, Galleon Leisure Centre in Kilmarnock attracted 800,000 visitors last year. As one of the most efficiently run trusts in Scotland, receiving just nine per cent of its operational turnover from East Ayrshire, the centre was keen to explore all options when it came to upgrading its dryside changing provision. The centre had installed wooden
Maximiser lockers, grooming stations and bench seats from Craftsman in the male and female changing rooms 10 years ago. Since these were still in good condition, these were removed and installed in the dryside areas, replacing the changing cubicles and some of the existing seating, while new Maximiser timber lockers and changing cubicles were installed in the gym changing areas. The Maximizer lockers feature three
separate compartments for hanging clothes, storing sports holdalls and keeping shoes and valuables. The centre also introduced Craftsman’s Equalizer locker, developed with the IFI and designed for wheelchair users and ambulant abled customers.

concealed design options, Thermatex Fine Stratos tiles can be fitted into either an exposed Ventatec or DONN grid system. With either grid, the tiles are easy to remove and reinstate when access is required to the services above the ceiling. The ceiling system also offers a
combination of outstanding fire resistance and acoustic performance. The tiles have a high quality finish with a sand textured white coloured surface which provides over 88 per cent light reflectance.
