OPI EVP and Artistic Director SuziWeiss-Fischmann previews Spring 2014 collections


The great and the glamorous of the British beauty press gathered at a showcase of OPI’s two new colour collections, due to launch Spring 2014.


Over 65members of the press attended the London launch, including journalists fromVogue, Instyle, Elle andMarie Claire, plus key retailers, topmanicurists and bloggers.


OPI’s ExecutiveVP andArtistic Director, SuziWeiss- Fischmann gave a presentation on the two new collections: Brazil by OPI and Gwen Stefani by OPI, and was joined by LenaWhite and Lisa Bennett of UK distributors LenaWhite Ltd.


Commenting on the Brazil collection, Suzi says: “With sun-soaked shores, tropical fruits, and lush flora / fauna, Brazil is such an inspiring locale. I wanted women around the world to embrace the energy and playfulness for which Brazilian women are known.


“Through the Brazil collection, with shades drenched in colour and charged with shine, women can express themselves, showing off their sexy,mysterious, fun and exciting natures.”


Brazil by OPI will be available in both OPI polish and Gelcolor, in an amethyst-toned pewter, a creamy nude, a taupe, amocha tone, a rich chocolate, a deep jungle green, a sunshine yellow, a deliciousmango shade, a confident orange, a luscious pink, a vibrant coral and a hot ruby red. In addition, the Brazil Beach Sandies Liquid Sandmini pack includes textured lacquers in violet,matte pink, blue and yellow.

The launch event also offered Suzi the opportunity to showcase OPI’s latest celebrity collaboration with Gwen Stefani, featuring seven new limited edition nail lacquers.


Inspired by the 2013MetropolitanMuseumCostume Institute Gala that featured the theme ‘Punk: Chaos to Couture’, the collection celebrates the role ofmusic as amajor influence in fashion. “Known for her trademark red lips, bold eyemake-up and nail art, Gwen uses beauty to accessorise her style,” says Suzi. “OPI wanted to create a collection as dramatic, diverse and glamorous as its namesake.With crème and glitter hues, new satinmatte texture, amirrored chrome and Swarovski Elements, Gwen Stefani by OPI presents the latest in pigments and finishes, while combining elements of haute couture and street fashion.”


Gwen’s signature red OPI hue – Over&OverA-Gwen – is available in a boxed set, which includes Swarovski black crystals and silver, gold and pewter studs in bar, square, diamond and circle shapes for creating unique nail designs, as well as nail glue for easy application.


Love.Angel.Music.Baby. and 4 in theMorning feature a new, semi-matte satin finish designed to be worn without top coat. Push and Shove, a bold chrome hue, is also worn without top coat but requires a special complimentary base coat, Lay Down that Base. One thin coat of Lay Down that Base topped with two thin coats of Push and Shove yields an intense,mirrored finish.


The collection is rounded off with two glossy crème lacquers and one sparkly glitter shade: Hey Baby, I Sing in Color and InTrue Stefani Fashion.


Gwen Stefani by OPI is launched January 2014, whilst Brazil by OPI will be available February 2014.
