TOY FAIR Fancy being a Toy Fair TV star?

Well, if you’re exhibiting at next year’s show, this is your chance, as the BTHA has extended both Toy Fair TV and the Demo Zone after overwhelming positive feedback. Samantha Loveday finds out more from presenters Anna Williamson and Gavin Inskip

“TOY FAIR TV is going to be everywhere next year at Toy Fair … the demo zone, one to one interviews on stands, meet and greets, you name it, we’ll be covering and showcasing everything the event has to offer,” presenter Anna Williamson enthuses to ToyNews. Introduced at this year’s

show, Toy Fair TV, and the accompanying Demo Zone, was a massive hit with both exhibitors and visitors. The BTHA received such positive feedback in fact, that in 2014 Toy Fair TV will run across the full three days of the show to give as many exhibitors as possible the chance to be involved.

The number of screens

across the show floor will be increased – in line with the growth of the floorplan itself – and it will also be streamed live through the Toy Fair website. The BTHA’s Majen Immink

explains: “The feedback we got from exhibitors [this year] was fantastic. Those that were involved were

really pleased with the extra publicity it gave them and those that were not able to participate expressed their keen interest for 2014. Visitors, too, felt it brought an extra dimension to the show and enjoyed watching the live coverage on the many screens throughout the show. “It was a no brainer to continue it into 2014 and to extend over the full three days to give us the time to get as many exhibitors included as possible.”

“Make sure you contact For the presenters of Toy

Fair TV – Williamson will again be joined by Gavin Inskip – it offers them a chance to check out the next big thing and also release their inner kid.

I love Toy Fair. It really is the event to see all the latest trends in the toy world.

Anna Williamson, Toy Fair TV presenter A filming timetable will

be created in due course for those exhibitors wishing to get involved, and due to predicted popularity will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

“I remember at Toy Fair 2013, the big thing was toys and games that worked alongside apps,” says Inskip. “I love board games, so I loved having a walk around and looking at

all the quirky board games, mainly from the independents. In fact, it’s my dream to have a board game and there’s one me and friends play I want to turn into one. I suppose I’ve got until January to get a prototype together…” Williamson adds: “I love

the fact that Toy Fair really is the event to see all the latest trends in the toy world. It’s a good job it’s on for three days, as you will need it to get round all the incredible stands.”

So, what kind of advice

would the presenting duo give to those companies looking to get involved in Toy Fair TV, and how to make the most of the exposure?

the production team early so they can schedule you a slot,” states Inskip. “Last time people were grabbing us on the go who hadn’t emailed, and while we tried to get in as many as we could, you’re guaranteed to get on if you book your slot in.

“Once you’re on screen with us, get someone who’s passionate about your products, it doesn’t have to be the big boss. You’ll probably have some big messages you’re wanting to convey at Toy Fair 2014, so remember in your interview to let us know your big news and Anna and I will help you get this across. We love playing with the toys – this year I got to sit on a dinosaur – so anything we can play with, we’ll be happy. “Also, our feet get tired

walking around Olympia, so if you do foot massages that would be a bonus…”
