here was a time when a white palm-fringed beach, turquoise ocean, coral reef, thatched villas
on stilts over the water, infi nity pools and dolphins on the doorstep would have been
enough to draw in the crowds. When it comes to the Maldives, the luxury bar is constantly being raised and tour operators and resorts are keen to point out there’s much more to the Maldives than beaches and diving.
