Achance to be involved
One of the objectives of the Reader Panel is to involve readers more in the editorial of Executive PA Magazine Asia. Quite often our writers need comment
on industry matters for various features, and the first people they approach are Reader Panel members. As the magazine extends its reach, we
also need readers to review books, hotels, venues, restaurants and products, and again we turn to our Reader Panel for this input. Further down the track we would like to organise reader events as well as famil trips for our readers, just as we do in Australia.
Reader events highlight particular
venues or hotels, which show off their hospitality offering. For the famil trips, readers are hosted by destinations so they can see what is being offered for corporate groups in terms of business events. They are hosted by a tourism organisation or convention bureau and get to enjoy the best of accommodation, venues, experiences and food. Pictured right is one of our readers
meeting a sand shark while on a famil in Queensland, Australia. If you have any suggestions for your city or region, please let us know.

Secretarial year launched
Did you know that 2014 is the Interna- tional Year of the Secretary? This is an initiative of South African
PAs, who decided on the move at the annual meeting of the Professional Association for Secretaries & Administra- tive Assistants. Their inspiration came from the observation that just such an international celebration was organised
in 1984 by the US secretarial body known as PSI (now IAAP). Next year marks the occasion’s 30th anniversary. To gain support, the South African
association has contacted nearly 100 secretarial associations globally. Meanwhile, for your diary... August
