In general, for coil machines to dispense properly, some


items must be repackaged. As for gloves, each pair of gloves in a box of a dozen would need to be individually wrapped or banded to prevent them from getting stuck or hung up in the coil, creating more steps in the replenishment process. According to Zertuche, Rockmart—unlike MP&C’s Or-


egon site—needed the ability to track the usage by each item rather than by category, something the coil machine didn’t offer. For example, in their glove inventory alone, having the detailed usage data of every glove right down to size, descrip- tion, part number and supervisor were critical requirements in their search for the right inventory management solution. The Results Since the implementation of CribMaster, MP&C has


improved productivity, reduced spend, decreased material consumption, freed up cash flow and gained control of item issuance. To ensure that the employees embraced the new user-friendly system, MP&C provided extensive individual- ized hands-on training classes prior to the installation. Te result was overwhelmingly positive. Te employees enjoy the simplicity of the system by having easy access to readily avail- able material. Tey simply authenticate with a quick swipe of their employee badge, grab various items they need from the bins , and go to work without ever having to track down a supervisor or wait for replenishment.
