What the organisers had to say: “Expo Riva Schuh is an ever-evolving workshop

which celebrates its 80 years looking forward to the futures. At every single edition, around 3 billion pairs of shoes are sold and concrete business opportunities continue to multiply. As far as we are concerned, we can only continue to enable this enormous potential to grow, a force that has been built up over the years offering new spaces and new services: for example, this time round we have added 1,500 square metres of exhibition space, involving new countries such as Ethiopia, Greece and Singapore”. Giovanni Laezza, Managing Director of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi.

“Expo Riva Schuh is a real melting pot of ideas

and trends. Our event continues more and more to know how to ‘move and shake’ new trends and new ideas for footwear in terms of innovation and research, offering just the right mix between the quality brands and the lower priced production from southern Europe, Asia and Latin-America.” Carla Costa, Manager of the F Riva del Garda Fierecongressi.

A Buyer’s comment on Expo Riva Schuh

What the exhibitors had to say: “The Expo Riva fair was very good for us.

atiana M. Müller de Oliveira, Export Department, A. Grings S.A., Brazil

The collection was 100% approved, the clients loved the news styles, colours and materials, our new collection is full of innovations and inspirations. At the fair we had a visit of clients for more than 14 countries; the fair was very good to improve our partnership with them. Furthermore we made new contacts and we hope to start to sell to more 2 countries, beyond the 90 countries that we already sell.” T

“The show was a great opportunity to show my

sales agents & customers the S&S collections. For the summer season we have created a storyboard theme. For each collection and in each collection we have for example a beach mule, flip flop, flip Birk style and a slipper, all with the same print, so I don’t know of any other company that can offer this style of collection.” Gayle Owen, Let’s T

was at Riva this season with Mjus doing the range build for the forth coming season. Gus commented: “For me it was a great opportunity to see the range and be able to begin getting an idea of what the trends are for SS14. As it was my first time I had nothing to compare it to but I was really impressed by the support that the British and Irish customers gave to the show, certainly making it worth while”.

, While at Expo Riva this season I

caught up with Graham Davies of Graham Davies F

ootwearwho has been

attending the show for the past 25 years making this visit his 50th show!

Grahams travels to Italy 3 or 4 weeks

before the show to work in the factories with the latest materials and components. Prototypes are made and final samples are prepared by the factories for the show. Then at Expo Riva he orders his final samples for the Cefalu, ellie.d and Bella B collections which give the factories ample production time.

Graham explains: “It’s great to spend time at the show talking to importers, wholesalers and retailers from all over the world who work from the same factories. As the differences between what sells in each country becomes smaller each year I gain vital information about which particular styles are selling well. I also meet up with many old friends from the “European Shoe Family” and again the exchange of information can be very helpful.”
