EVERYONE’S A WINNER

LET’S GET THIS out of the way... WE WON! That’s right, last month we were named Food Magazine or Section of the Year (an award sponsored by Tenderstem) at the glitzy Guild of Food Writers Awards ceremony in that London town. (This prize was actually for our original Crumbs title, which covers Bath, Bristol and around, but since Cotswolds Crumbs is so similar we’re claiming it too!) The mag beat off the likes of the Financial Times weekend magazine and quarterly journal Fire & Knives to grab the thing, so we’re mighty chuffed. Full of beans, you could say… And talking of beans, how about this month’s hero

Who are we? Crumbs is a free, high-quality monthly magazine dedicated to celebrating the best food and drink businesses in the Cotswolds. Expect a mix of recipes, reviews, interviews and advice each issue; you’ll find us at local pubs, restaurants, delis and foodie emporiums across the region.

ingredient? Broad beans are incredibly versatile, have the richest of histories, and their arrival – for many of us – signals the true start of summer. Whether chucked in a salad, mushed into a guacamole or crisped and spiced up for a posh Spanish-style bar snack, they do it for us every time. So, of course, we’ve been celebrating here at HQ and what

better way to toast the summer than with a cocktail or two? We’ve been getting some of the Cotswolds’ top mixologists to reveal their secrets this issue; say we sent you. Aside from celebrating, what else have we been up to? Glad

you asked! We’ve been having a nosy around Prue Leith’s gaff up in the north Cotswolds and speaking to Bath-born Mary Berry ahead of her visit to Gloucester Quays for its food festival on 19-21 July. They’re both true Crumbs heroines, so meeting them was a particular thrill…
