Business Profile

DEG Signal’s ambition is to be the most proficient independent signalling design company in the UK, while at the same time recognising the need to be understanding of its clients’ requirements

D

EG Signal is a company with great ambitions: the past year has seen an internal re-organisation as well as new partnerships, and as a result it has experienced significant growth In 2012 DEG Signal also put in place plans for a more international future, but at the same time it has been successful in winning new contracts in the UK, for example the Wessex Platform extensions and a number of level crossing upgrades. Its order book is exceptional and underpinned by a very robust sales pipeline. Nevertheless, whatever its growth targets, the company will always keep sight of its technical excellence. This is the foundation on which DEG Signal has built its reputation as a signalling design company over the past 20 years. During that time it has been involved in all the major signalling projects in the UK: the Channel Tunnel, the Jubilee line extension, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, West Coast route modernisation, and all the signalling upgrades to London Underground.

Clients rightly expect the company's solutions to be intelligent, technically excellent and responsive to their needs, and it must therefore be increasingly open to all cultures and to innovation. DEG Signal's ambition is to be the most proficient independent signalling design company in the UK. But at the same time it recognises the need to be understanding of its clients’ requirements.

Growth and excellence are aims that are not always easy to reconcile but the company never compromises on quality, management or acquiring new skills. This is DEG Signal's major challenge in 2013 and beyond.

It will continue to develop its engineers and provide continuous assessment through the IRSE Licensing Scheme, and its apprenticeship programme is also vitally important to meet future resource requirements. The company will engage closely with

the National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering (NSARE), with the emphasis on apprentices and ERTMS development. 2013 will be a great year for DEG Signal as it further consolidates its new structure and partnerships. The company will continue to develop its off-shore

design resource and improve its ability to provide design, installation and testing services with its new partners. It will also continue to develop its export potential in new overseas markets.

DEG Signal will continue to think of itself as flexible and innovative for its

clients and their transport projects. Quite rightly it is proud of its achievements and keen to provide on-going solutions for your signalling needs.
