CLV610 For Plug-and-Play Product Identification T

he new SICK CLV610 barcode scanner with the fieldbus module meets the need for easy-to-install and cost-effective product identification in product handling and conveying.

Developed in close

collaboration with warehouse and logistics customers, the SICK CLV610, combined with the CDF600-2 fieldbus module delivers ‘plug-and-play’ rapid configuration and ease of use, wherever and whenever required. The three versions of the CLV610, ECO, CAN and fieldbus, can be integrated with a wide variety of factory automated control systems, including PROFIBUS, so it can be used as a replacement or new scanning resource almost anywhere.

It is suitable for mounting to all common conveyor systems.

Incorporating SICK’s intuitive SOPAS user interface and powerful IDpro platform, both common to all new SICK products, the SICK CLV610 can be rapidly set up and configured. Data is transmitted by the SICK CLV610 to the control system in the desired format, instead of requiring additional programming in the remote controller or PLC, reducing processing time and possible errors.

The JD Neuhaus community ‘engineered for extremes’

he J D Neuhaus website, jdngroup.com has been subject to major revamps which include a more prominent presentation of products in the homepage menu. Their impressive product range incorporates purpose designed handling equipment which is ‘engineered for extremes’ and used for applications in some of the heaviest and most demanding engineering markets.

T Details of their worldwide subsidiaries are supported with the site available in seven different

languages. The new site will feature an enlarged view at standard resolution with zoom effects available and a re-launch of the typography and picture sizes is also incorporated together with a footer with menu repetition. For easier navigation, the menu level structure has been reduced from 3 to 2 and an optimised version for mobile phones will also be available. Of growing interest is their JDN Community, an interactive site platform for exchanges of views between professionals who specify, provide or have full hands-on experience of JDN products in the field.

On-Site Integrating Sphere Calibrations

L

absphere can now perform on-site calibration services directly at customer facilities for all brands of integrating sphere Uniform Source Systems. The cost-effective service includes a professional

assessment of the overall system condition, re-lamping the sphere with before and after measurements, optional power supply calibration and Labsphere’s certified calibration with NIST- traceable measurements. Service is recommended if the system lamps have been operated for more than 50 hours, the uniform source system is more than two years old or the system has been used in a dusty environment. It should also be performed if a company’s Quality Management System mandates annual calibrations on critical measurement equipment, or if the monitor detector disagrees with the original calibration certificate. Labsphere’s Uniform Light Source systems can provide uniform radiance or irradiance, with applications that include the test and calibration of focal-plane arrays and cameras for areas such as pixel gain normalization, photographic sensitometry, and remote-observation system calibration. Sources are used in the ultraviolet, visible and near infrared regions of the spectrum.
