Norbar warns that wheel nut indicators are no substitute for good bolting practice

selosWT

- The new generation of terminal blocks

C

onnection expert Wieland Electric is launching selosWT, a new generation of terminal blocks that have been designed to provide a secure and maintenance-free connection, optimized and time- saving handling adds up to a considerable reduction in costs. The selos series of products combine the classic screw connection with modern connection technology, with the focus on customer benefits and increased efficiency. Whether a single solid-conductor wire or multi-stranded wire is used or if a wire end ferrule is present or not, selos provides a simple and secure electrical connection. Owing to the large amount of terminal space, universal connection and easy expansion through the use of multi-wire connections are possible at any time. At the same time,

the proven Wieland screw connection

technology guarantees a secure, maintenance-free and long lasting connection. The special clamping element design with its single-lead thread ensures a high quality and uniform connection, even when rewiring and reconnecting. The compact proportions of selos are an additional benefit and a result of the uniform and optimized design as well as the considerably fewer number of accessories.

ommercial vehicle operators have been warned that wheel nut movement indicators and nut locking devices are no substitute for good bolting practice, including the correct application of torque to wheel bolts.

The warning, from Norbar Torque one of the world’s leading manufacturers of torque

wrenches, is designed to increase awareness of torque issues on commercial vehicles and promote improved torque control. According to “Brake”, the road safety charity, runaway wheels kill 8 to 10 people and injure many more each year in the UK. Norbar Torque is increasingly concerned that this issue is not given its due attention by the road haulage and public service vehicle industries where speed and low cost often seem to be the most important factors in wheel bolting. Plastic wheel nut movement indicators can be applied to commercial vehicles, such as articulated lorries and buses, to indicate movement in the wheel nut. Many commercial vehicle users also apply nut locking devices which link two or more adjacent nuts in such a way as to prevent them from undoing.

stand L-06. The ev2 DiViiNA linescan cameras are an easy-to-use and robust product with very simple functionality that provides the perfect image quality for mid-range applications. They have been specifically designed to provide the best solution for machine vision system integrators who are under cost reduction pressure but are eager to maintain high CCD performance. Matrix Vision and The Imaging Source now offer compact industrial cameras with a USB3 Vision interface. High quality CMOS sensors are available from VGA to 14 MegaPixels. Both Monochrome and Colour cameras are available. The Matrix Vision mvBlueFOX3 camera has onboard FPGA, a 256MB image memory, and for OEM use, the camera is also available at single board level. The Sentech GigE Vision family of cameras has grown to include new PoE (Power over Ethernet) and PoE-HS (HighSpeed) models alongside the Standard and PowerPlus (with Xilinx based user FPGA) models.

… new thermal imaging value packs offer savings up to £1551

LIR Systems has done more than most to bring thermal imaging to a wider audience. Its development of application specific software has resulted in its cameras being used across industry. Greater volume has brought manufacturing economies which has allowed FLIR Systems to apply even keener prices to its high performance products, particularly at entry level. Now with the introduction of new promotional packs, FLIR Systems is adding even more value to its i-Series and E-Series entry level troubleshooting cameras. Starting at the top of the range, investment in a FLIR E60 with image quality of

F

320 x 240 pixels, carries a savings potential is £1,551 as this value pack comes complete with an extra battery, choice of interchangeable lens and a pouch. The FLIR E30, E40 and E50 packs comprise a pouch, tool belt, extra battery and charger, representing savings of £257. All models have in-built digital camera and, with the exception of the FLIR E30, have Bluetooth/WiFi and Meterlink™ that allows the thermal camera to receive measurement values from compatible meters.

he 781S Series Low Volume Low Pressure (LVLP) spray systems provide consistent coating of low to medium viscosity fluids. Microliter to milliliter amounts can be reliably dispensed in round patterns with diameters ranging from 4.3 to 50.8 mm (0.17" to 2.0") and in fan patterns with widths up to 165.1 mm (6.5"). The combination of adjustable fluid flow, adjustable nozzle air and post-air cutoff provides excellent spray control. The system includes compact spray valve, ValveMate™ controller and tank. The controller is set for length of time and air pressure required for precise coverage. Programmable nozzle air delay after each spray cycle keeps the spray nozzle clog-free and reduces maintenance and downtime.

uxonic Lighting designs and manufactures versatile luminaires for use in industrial and

warehousing premises. HI-MAX® LED is a range of luminaires for mounting at heights up to 18 metres, and is developed especially for production facilities and high warehouse racking. The luminaires use high output Cree XP-E LEDs, and they operate in the ambient thermal range of –30 to +30 °C. The HI- MAX® fittings can either be suspended or surface mounted, and are highly efficient, with the option of integral dimmable control gear which contributes to energy savings and a reduction in CO2 emissions. Luxonic significantly increases the life expectancy and reduces the maintenance costs of the luminaires through the protection of the LED array by the optic, minimising environmental damage. A presence detector, suitable for mounting heights in excess of 15 metres, means that the fitting can be set to switch between full output when the warehouse space is occupied and a dimmed light output when unoccupied. The luminaires can be programmed to turn off after a period of inactivity, or if there IS sufficient daylight to light the space.
