CONTRIBUTORS PARTY NON STOP

We’ve been talking about it for months, looking forward to something that seemed so distant. Now, we can officially say that festival season is finally here. Sensation has come and gone, lighting up Toronto in a mind-numbing display of music and art, in what will likely become the yearly unofficial start to the outdoor party period of Canadian summer. Piknic Electronik is in full swing every Sunday in Montreal, boat cruises have started running from coast to coast, and park parties are popping up almost daily. No matter what city you call home, chances are you are counting down the days to your own local dance festival, with the first round of massives slated for Canada Day weekend, highlighted by Ottawa’s Escapade and Toronto’s Digital Dreams, with Calgary’s Badlands Festival right behind them the following week. Winnipeg’s inaugural Summer of Sound festival kicks off later this month, with literally dozens more Canadian parties planned for the following months from Victoria to Antigonish.

Our cover star of the month, Steve Angello was handpicked directly from the headliner slot of two of these festivals, where his fans patiently wait to see which direction his sets will take in the post- mafia era. Will the Mescal Kid make a welcome appearance, or will Steve stick to the big room progressive sound that has solidified his spot atop the global dance music ranks in recent years? He drops some hints in our exclusive cover story. And then there’s the cover mix, a veritable work of art from a talented producer packed full of potential. Fehrplay is a name on nearly everyone’s radar, from the Pryda Friends fanboys (like us), to the trance nation family. This guest mix shows a deeper, atmospheric side to the Norwegian wunderkind that we’re ecstatic to share with you. So strap in, strap your dancing shoes on, and meet us on the dance floor, because this summer we’re taking Pirupa’s words to heart … party non stop!
