FESTIVAL FEVER
Following their sold out Easter weekend festival, the team behind Northern Lights returns with Badlands Stampede Music Festival. Featuring another all star lineup after Northern Lights saw Calvin Harris, Nicky Romero, Krewella, Flux Pavillion, and Bassnectar among many others, Badlands Stampede Music Festival will certainly be one of Canada’s best electronic music festivals of the summer. Taking place at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta from July 5th to July 7th and boasting a lineup that includes Afrojack, Kaskade, Pretty Lights, Sultan + Ned Shepard, Mord Fustang, Excision, and many more, we simply can’t wait for some of dance music’s biggest names to grace Calgary in early July. Keep reading for our five must see acts.
5. SULTAN + NED SHEPARD
Montreal’s Sultan + Ned Shepard were one of our favourite acts at Bal en Blanc and they will undoubtedly be a highlight in Calgary during the summer. The duo has recently teamed up with both Fedde Le Grand and Nervo for some massively supported tracks and will certainly continue their run leading up to the summer. Utilizing big room melodic climaxes with sing along lyrics, the duo has released some of the biggest tracks in dance music over the past few months. Not only standing out with their own productions, the duo founded Harem Records in 2008 and have built it into one of dance music’s best labels.
4. ADVENTURE CLUB
Another duo coming from Montreal, the bass heavy tracks from Adventure Club have rocketed them to dance music stardom. Known for massive drops and putting on a wild show, expect the pair from Montreal to shake the ground at Canada Olympic Park in early July. The duo has remixed the likes of Young Jeezy, The Temper Trap, Flight Facilities, and Mike Posner and has been supported by everyone in bass music. Expect a high energy, hard hitting, and wild set from these two in July.
