FOUR CHICAGO CLASSIC
Ron Hardy / Sensation/ (Trax)
The only “official” Ron Hardy production release on Trax has had numerous remastered issues since its release in 1985. Adrien Jett’s vocal is visceral and the production is raw and seductive - a hint of how thrilling the Music Box experience was.
Phuture / Acid Tracks/ (Trax)
After experimenting with the Roland TB 303 - a bass synthesizer that was designed as an accompaniment for rock bands - DJ Pierre, Spanky and Herb J emerged from their bedroom studio with the first acid house tune that would inspire Ron Hardy’s Music Box Club and thousands of clones.
Cajmere / Percolator/ (Cajual)
An early example of ghetto house from house music outsider, Cajmere. Getting a wider release in 1992, this perennial classic, with it’s dememted, gurgling bassline and club-friendly mantra - “It’s time for the percolator!” - still gets as much attention from DJs now as it did then.
Ron Trent + Chez Damier / Hip To Be

Disillusioned Vol. 1/ (Prescription)
ABoth producers synchronised perfectly for this vintage Prescription release. Nuanced by Chez Damier’s Detroit roots and Ron Trent’s Chicago roots, their collaboration resulted in a unique sounding deep house EP that’s darker than a starless night.
