Zipping by the light of the silvery moon
A NEW adventure activity is on offer to night owls in North Carolina. Zip line tour operator ZipQuest has launched a new take on the usual zip-line: night zipping. The adventure features the same elements as the day zip-line,
that's 16
tree platforms, eight zip lines, three canopy sky bridges over a waterfall and two spiral staircases – but with a new feature added: the dark. The tour begins at dusk with an orientation exercise then, when darkness descends, the helmet lights are turned on and the real adventure begins. Factors such as the size of the moon and position of the clouds help create a unique zipping experience.

2012, the
ASSOCIATION IN THE MARKET TO ENGAGE BOTH TRADE AND CONSUMERS
AS the largest of the Visit USA Associations across the world (with almost 200 members) here in the UK we are always looking for different ways to keep promoting the USA to both the trade and consumers. The Association is heading into one
of its busiest periods with July seeing the return of the Visit USA Media Marketplace and Media awards, which this year will be held in London on Monday July 1. Attended by over 50 of our members and 100 UK travel media, this is certainly one of the most important networking events of the year. Later that same week, on Thursday
July 4, members will flock to the Visit USA Association Independence Ball. The black-tie evening event, regarded as a highlight of the USA travel industry calendar, is always a sell out and attended by over 350 partners. While still a long way off, there are some dates we would like you to pop into your diary for the end of the year. Visit USA and a number of its members will be visiting three cities at in late November, as part of
the
Association's seventh annual travel agent roadshow. This year’s chosen destinations will be Gatwick (November 260,
Cardiff
(27), and Manchester (28). Details of how to register will be made available in the coming weeks – so keep reading this column or visit our website for regular updates on these and other Association news.
