Salmon From Florida Fields to Forks! F

lorida Fields to Forks, a community- supported agriculture (CSA) farm in Malabar, Florida, is now offering wild-caught Alaskan salmon from the Kenai River in Alaska. Sought Out Salmon is Florida Fields to Fork’s newest farm partner. Owned and operated by Craig

and Melissa Litke, Sought Out Salmon is a fourth generation fi sher-family who lives, and fi shes, off the Kenai River shoreline right in their backyard. After much research and numerous conversations, Florida Fields to Forks

chose the Litkes because the salmon they catch is handled by them personally and does not leave their operation. From catching, cleaning and fi leting, fl ash freezing and shipping, the fi sh are the full responsibility of the Litke family. According to Brock Hall, owner of Florida Fields to Forks, “Most wild-caught Alaskan salmon is sent to a regional distribution operation. We want our salmon to come straight from the fi sherman to our farm. It can’t get any fresher, and more nutritious, than from the main source to us.” Wild-caught Alaskan salmon season on the Kenai River begins July 10 through August 10. Brock adds, “We are currently taking fi sh orders from our CSA members. We are expecting our shipment of fi sh to arrive at our farm in mid-July. We are offering one-pound fi lets of sushi-grade Coho, Sockeye and Chinook (King) salmon, all vacuum-sealed and fl ash frozen, at great prices.” Florida Fields to Forks is a local farm, with over 400 members, that offers

100% Angus dry-aged grass-fed beef, pasture-raised Katahdin lamb, Berkshire pork and Cornish Cross chickens, beyond-organic produce, raw milk from grass-fed Jersey cows, raw milk artisan cheeses, eggs from pastured chickens, raw honey from beehives on the farm and much more. Local members come to the farm on Thursdays between 2:30 – 6:00 pm. Florida Fields to Forks delivers monthly to members in Orlando, Maitland and West Palm and does not sell at farmers markets or to the general public.
