Travel Uni programme The Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) is proud to announce that it will be launching a brand new online training programme with Travel Uni. The CTO currently runs a paper-based
Caribbean Training Programme but is now working closely with Travel Uni to create an exciting online course and programme. The innovative training tool will not only bring all Caribbean training together, acting as a fantastic central resource for agents and homeworkers, but it will also allow for the instant sharing of Caribbean-wide news across a much broader audience.
Namibia’s trade awareness
BY PETER ELLEGARD NAMIBIA is launching a trade campaign in conjunction with Travel 2 in April as it aims to boost awareness of the destination with agents. The campaign, which is based around the launch of a ‘bite-size’ Namibia module in the Travel 2 Online Training Academy, is designed to augment the existing Travel Uni course on Namibia and is part of a wider mission to increase UK visitor numbers and room nights. In support, the Namibia Tourism Board is creating double-sided window posters with space for offers that agents can add, plus an eight-page destination guide with sample itineraries for customers. Agents will receive e-shots and they will also be able to win one of four Kindle e-readers pre-loaded with a Namibia travel guide book and Namibia/Travel 2-branded cases as booking incentives. That is in addition to an existing Namibia Tourism Board trade incentive running until the end of April in which agents can

knowledgeably to their customers. “After the recent huge success of David
Attenborough’s Africa television series, we are hoping to capitalise on this as well as raise the destination to new heights for 2013,” he added.

Rewards scheme for agents Plus, the online programme will also introduce a new rewards scheme, so agents can gain even more from taking part. A fully-integrated course, the programme will have the facility to link to training courses of individual Caribbean Tourism Organisation members ensuring agents get the best news and information from across the Caribbean as well as for individual destinations within the region. The new online training will also make it
easier for a much larger number of agents to take part, share insider tips and news whilst both agents and partners will be able to monitor their progress and achievements.
