FLORIDA
PENSACOLA BY LAURA GELDER
“The Historic Pensacola
Lighthouse was built in 1859 and is reputedly haunted, which is why I’m glad it’s

“Pensacola is Florida’s
second-oldest city, nicknamed the City of Five Flags because Spain, France, England, the Confederates and the United States all ruled the roost here. It’s a great beach destination, but it’s also worth a stop for its history. Check out Fort Pickens and Fort Barrancas, built in the early 1800s and still standing firm. Or head to Pensacola Village for a snapshot of colonial life.”
Located within walking distance of
a variety of restaurants and nightlife options, the 118 guest-room property will feature a cocktail bar, lounge and free Wi-Fi. Representing a different side to Orlando will be the opening of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort’s Senses – a Disney-owned-and- operated spa. As well as the usual treatments and pampering, there will be water therapy and kids treatments like the Princess Pedicure or Magical Manicure for children.
