The Volvo EC480D sold to Ingrebourne Valley gets to grips unloading material from barges on the edge of the River Thames in Essex.
of the machine a Veractert GOS-35 1670 litre rehandling grab has been fitted. The operating weight of the machine has been increased to just over 54 tonnes.
At the heart of the machine a Stage IIIB V- Act 13 litre engine
develops 348 nett hp and is ideally matched to its automatic sensing mode hydraulic system. The machine features an auto- matic idling system that reduces engine speed when the levers and pedals are not activated – aiding fuel efficiency and lowering external noise. When only a single function is being used, the two pump hydraulics system combines the flow of both pumps for quick cycle times and greater productivity. It can also priori- tize flow according to the work being done – e.g. to the boom for faster raising when loading or in deep excavations; to the arm during levelling or swing during large slewing angles.
Ingrebourne Valley has a long working relationship with C J Pryor (Plant) Ltd who provide all the plant and equipment
support to the company and is a joint venture company between RJD Ltd and P.F. Ahern (London) Ltd. RJD is a quarry operating company and also constructs agricultural reservoirs on gravel bearing land. It currently has a number of reservoir and quarry sites in various stages of development.
Commenting on the recent purchase, C J Pryor (Plant) Ltd, Plant Director Mick Munn said; “We have a long experience operating Volvo products so when we decided to purchase the right machine for this particular project, choosing the EC480D with all the service support and backup we can rely on from Volvo made perfect sense.” The new EC480D has been supplied with a Blue Volvo service agreement.
Ingrebourne Valley currently has projects throughout the south east of England and accepts inert waste into these sites. The company has turned several thousand acres of damaged land devoid of soils into country parks and other agricultural uses.
