Ingrebourne Valley Ltd has taken delivery of a
Volvo EC480D excavator equipped with bespoke
rehandling equipment for a long term project in Essex.
Bespoke Volvo rehandler for
The EC480D has been supplied to Ingrebourne Valley with bespoke rehandling equipment designed and manufactured by Kocurek of Ipswich and has been deployed on a large land regeneration project on the edge of the River Thames in Essex. The main duty of the machine is to unload barges bringing inert sub soil and other materials from various sites along the river into articulated haulers that then deposit the material over the site. The EC480D boasts an outreach of 13.5 metres, a pin height of 14 metres and a digging depth of 6.5 metres. To achieve these impressive dimensions the machine has been fitted with an 8.0 metre boom, which has been straightened and lengthened from the original, a 6.0 metre swan neck grab arm supported by two under-slung cylinders and an additional counterweight. hydraulic high rise cab giving a lift height of 2 metres to improve operator visibility when unloading the barges, especially at low tide and at the business end
