JUDGES’ COMMENTS: Currently spending £1.2 billion, its new owners have transformed Gatwick to such an extent that it is becoming the airport of choice for a growing number of corporate travellers. Judges were also impressed by the fact there has been a significant change in Gatwick’s management approach and working culture.

JUDGES’ COMMENTS: Judges felt that the shortlisted contenders all had merits, but the Contgo’s Mapcast feature gave it the edge as a genuinely innovative product with clear benefits both for the travel manager and the traveller.

JUDGES’ COMMENTS: It was a very closely contested fight between Giles Travel and Carlson Wagonlit Travel – who certainly warrant an honourable mention – but having made a great leap last year, Giles Travel has built on its success and won new business against strong competition from a very small geographic base.

JUDGES’ COMMENTS: A small company with big achievements, Wings Travel Management’s passion for perfection particularly impressed the judges, as did its Incident-Free Index performance-tracking feature demonstrating 99 per cent traveller satisfaction, and an outstanding CSR programme.

JUDGES’ COMMENTS: There was a very strong submission from the winner in this category. Chambers has an impressive growth record, client list and CSR programme, and its expansion into the SME pan-European market shows a commendably high level of confidence in its capabilities.

JUDGES’ COMMENTS: FCM demonstrated strong growth, exemplary client focus, transferable technologies from the leisure market, good geographical spread and all-round excellent performance; the clincher, though, was its emphasis on a highly-personalised approach to business.
