international airports in the Republic of South Sudan. Juba handles both international and local airlines, air cargo traffi c, commercial chartered fl ights and private jets. It is also used by the South Sudanese military forces and United Nations relief fl ights into the country. “This is a further step in the growth of

Aurora Aviation and demonstrates our commitment to invest in opportunities where we can deliver an enhanced service to our customers,” commented Dr Mahmoud Dashash, President, Aurora Aviation Dubai Division. In recent years the airport has been expanded and is currently undergoing a series of improvements. Traffi c has been steadily increasing and the enlargement of the runway looks set to bring major airlines to the airport. Alongside this, there are now signifi cant developments being made in the infrastructure of the Republic of South Sudan. Having recently acquired a jet fuel terminal at the airport, Aurora Aviation will become an into-plane fuelling services provider and, subsequently, expects to become a ground handler at Juba International. “Aurora Aviation Services will then be able to provide the whole range of ground handling services to commercial airlines, air medics, cargo operators and private jets - from passenger services, security and immigration to ramp services, fl ight planning, permits and maintenance as well as fuel supply,” stated Jackson Musewa, Head of Operations, Aurora Aviation Services. “Through our jet fuel terminal and modern fl eet of refuellers, Aurora’s team will supply aviation fuel to all types of aircraft in a timely, safe and effi cient manner.” Aurora’s project in South Sudan will have the effect of expanding its network of terminals and FBOs.

In brief Air New Zealand has become the

fi rst airline to offer all international passengers departing Sydney International for trans-Tasman and Pacifi c Island destinations fast track kiosk check-in facilities. Passengers have only to scan their machine readable passports at a kiosk to be issued with a boarding pass and bag tags. Those travelling with check-in luggage then simply take it to the bag drop area, where staff will check their ID and scan their bag tags.

Jet Aviation Dubai has expanded its service delivery reach in the United Arab Emirates and is now providing VIP handling services at Dubai World Central’s Al Maktoum International airport.
