32 HI-LIFTS AND LOADERS

Reaching new heights

The cargo business may be in decline around the world but the manufacturers have found plenty of interest in their product ranges.

ccording to Willy Martinez at Spanish manufacturer EINSA, things have been busy during the

review period.

“The loader market has been optimum for EINSA over the last 12 months, as we have supplied several 15 tonne civil and military loaders to several customers worldwide. Of note is the fact that both South America and Africa have become stronger lately in terms of interest and in sales. In the last quarter of 2012 we sold some loaders to South America and there were two that went to the Middle East.” Willy adds that whilst EINSA has not actually modified the range it has nonetheless been upgraded and improved to meet all latest environmental and operational

requirements. Work here has included upgrading the engine, the electronics, hydraulic components and so on. “At present, we are developing a new range of green equipment, which will include loaders, transporters, steps, beltloaders and hybrid tow tractors. We are optimistic that the commercial sector will grow as 2013 gets underway and we expect the new handling contracts in Spain to be released during the coming year. In addition to that, we have the largest ever quantity of orders in hand for 2013, in which military requests predominate.”

Meanwhile, at Denge Makina, Murat Denge looks back on a profitable year. “The hi-lift, that is, medical lifts and catering trucks, market was fine compared to 2011, and the number of

units we sold has risen. Even though there was a strong decrease in enquiries from Europe, the total sales figures were boosted through the significant markets of Russia and the Middle East.” Murat adds that the company’s most successful loader is that of the MDL5804 on a commercial chassis: now with improved features, this model has been the best seller.

This year will see Denge launch a new model; however, the current model has been improved and a few new features in terms of safety and operator comfort have been added.

“Since Denge is manufacturing this unit only on a commercial chassis, with the new launch of the self propelled medical lift there will be an option for an electric powered unit as well as a diesel one,” he says.

And what was the outlook for 2013?
