vertical tracks that have been installed in the project to highlight the building’s alter. Fortunately for Light Projects, their

Following a £500,000 repair project, it’s no wonder that Rugby School wanted to install a new lighting scheme to show off their chapel. The repairs restored the beautiful ceiling in the Grade I listed Victorian Gothic building, and once this was complete it was then time to improve the lighting. Fittings from Light Projects were chosen

for use throughout the interior by dpa lighting consultants, who completed the stunning lighting scheme. The fixtures chosen are all suited for the specific space in which they have been used, coming together to create an inspired illumination of the building’s architecture. Included in the scheme are powerful but small and discreet Window Reveals on the inside edges of the windows. These work wonderfully alongside Mini Minor fittings with integral cowls, which have been used on this occasion to light up the arches and stonework in the chapel. Completing Light Projects’ contribution to the space are a selection of larger Toucan fittings on

products have been used in a number of previous places of worship, so the project was not a far cry from previous work. Their products have been uniquely designed in such a way as to provide the subtle but effective lighting that is needed for such spaces. In order to make the chapel at Rugby School as awe-inspiring as possible, the Light Projects fittings were cleverly used to accentuate the aesthetic of the building. The use of Mini Minor and Window Reveal products in particular were ideal, as these are perfect for uplighting, picking up little architectural details. Rather than detracting from the space, these products simply do their work and let the building’s beauty speak for itself.

The range of lamps used in Rugby School include MR16-CMH 35 watt 25° flood, MR16 35W 12 10° narrow spot and 35w BriteSpot lamps. The finished project is an excellent celebration of a beautiful building.
