Lane End Conference Centre has carried out major lighting refurbishments to further enhance their state of the art facilities. With a simple brief to enhance natural daylight during the day and to create a sense of natural light throughout the evening, Hacel provided class leading illumination across the 26 acre site.

The specialist conference facilities at Lane End include areas for delegate training, which are used extensively for reading and writing tasks. Consequently, Atmos Pendants, featuring a specular Miro louvre, were utilised to minimise glare and maximise light output. The Atmos offers superb performance from its long life, energy efficient T5 Fluorescent lamp.

As natural daylight was an important element to the lighting design, Linear Light4 Daylight Modules were the clear choice as they utilise multi layered prismatic refraction technology to recreate the appearance of ‘virtual daylight’. The Linear Light4 Daylight Module hosts a combination of uniform illuminance, visual comfort and low glare with a high apparent brightness whilst being sympathetic to the latest screen technologies, making it ideally suited to the modern, high-tech facilities and new generation plasma screens throughout the centre.

Opulus Pendants showcasing a large diameter clear halo glass and high output T5 fluorescent light source were suspended above boardroom tables. Solara Slim Downlighters, a recessed compact fluorescent luminaire with excellent general lighting properties were used throughout the dining areas and Linaj 977 Wall Lights provided a creative ambience featuring etched glass to the upper and lower fascias producing a beautiful diffusion of white light.

Lane End’s Deputy Manager and Head of Facilities, Mark Lishman, commented: ‘It was not only the quality and design of the product, but also the level of assistance and degree of knowledge and understanding demonstrated by Hacel which made them the clear choice for this project’.
