One such leading light that will be attending this year’s Cloud Expo is Paul Goodridge, UK & Ireland Country Manager, the fi rst employee in Arista’s international sales organisation. He has witnessed the compa- ny’s evolution over the last four years and has high expectations for 2013 given Arista’s commitment to innovation in Ethernet Switching Technol- ogy and it’s enablement of cloud networking.
Goodridge’s long and successful career has seen the industry develop from technology participation in business processes, to technology enablement. Arista’s switching technology is now capable of enabling applications, such that they deliver services that are truly consistent with end user requirements.
THE YEAR AHEAD
2013 will be a landmark year for Arista as it continues to evolve its switching platforms, which will address the challenges of capital, operational and scaling issues of today’s data centre. One could ar- gue that the current approach of other ethernet switching vendors, of consuming data centre space and power is no longer sustainable. It’s Arista’s foresight around form factor, power and scalability, which clearly differentiate Arista’s customers in their ability to address the effi ciencies demanded by cloud and its associated applications.
“Arista is truly differentiated by its ability to underpin the technologi- cal requirements of building Software Defi ned Networks at scale. Our switching platforms represent the smallest footprint and lowest power consumption of all the major switching vendors and can therefore inherently drive down both OpEx and CapEx expenditure,” commented Goodridge.
WHY CLOUD EXPO? During a chat with CCI, Goodridge explained just how much he is looking
forward to Arista attending Cloud Expo Europe 2013, as he believes this event represents an opportunity to meet with customers that are focused on leveraging technology: “For Arista, Cloud Expo provides a community of users, where their agenda of scale, performance and operational effi ciency is consistent with the value proposition of Arista’s technology and allows us to clearly differentiate our capability,” said the UK & Ireland Country Manager.
