ADAPTIVE COMPUTING

With its foundations being laid back in 1996, Adaptive Computing has grown to become one of the largest providers of self-optimising private cloud management software. The company manages the world’s largest computing installations with their Moab self-optimising cloud manage- ment and HPC workload management solutions

The Moab Cloud Suite, an intelligent data centre and cloud man- agement system, automates the decisions and process surrounding the provisioning of diverse resources against varied incoming workloads and changing conditions based on business policies and service level goals. It also provides on-demand user self-service resource requests for cloud environments with usage chargeback and an administrative dashboard to simplify management.

The company says that its products act as a brain on top of existing and future diverse infrastructure and middleware to enable it to self-optimise and deliver higher ROI to the business. With there still a lot of hype being touted around about Cloud computing, and much discus- sion about the costs of moving to a Private Cloud Environment, costs can play a key factor in cloud adoption decisions. It is true that there are costs to set up and manage Private Cloud projects, but there are also signifi cant savings to be made from successful Private Cloud deploy- ments using the Moab Software. Just one example of typical savings is the ability to reduce capital costs by improving utilisation by 100% to 200% beyond just virtualisation. There are also many other opportunities for cost savings.

EXPO PRESENCE

The company will once again be exhibiting – you can visit them at Stand 615 – and with them this year will be Ian Cartwright, EMEA Business Manager for Adaptive Computing, who joined the company almost 12 months ago to promote Adaptive’s Moab Cloud Software into the EMEA region, with considerable success from Scandinavia in the North to Spain in the south of the EMEA region. “This will be my fi rst Cloud Expo,” commented Cartwright during a

chat with CCI, “and I am really looking forward to working with the Cloud Expo team to make sure that we have a successful meeting. I am also excited about the prospect of meeting enterprise organisations that are at different stages of their Private Cloud projects.”

“This year we will be in a position to announce an exciting new development at Cloud Expo. The announcement plan is in the early stages at the moment, and we will be happy to share this with CCI as soon as the announcement is ready, which should be prior to Cloud Expo.”

Watch this space readers! WHY CLOUD EXPO?

“Cloud Expo has a reputation for attracting senior managers from large enterprise organisations in the UK and also from the EMEA Region. This is our prime audience and therefore the decision to exhibit to promote our message was a simple one.”
