Biamp bolsters Asia-Pacific team


Tomi Kallio and Wayne Cheung have joined the Hong Kong office


Two new faces have joined the Asia-Pacific sales team at Biamp Systems. Tomi Kallio (left) and Wayne Cheung will both be based in Hong Kong and report to Matthew Packer, Asia Pacific regional director. Kallio has been appointed as the new area manager for south-east Asia, Japan and Korea. He has extensive experience working with international sales teams throughout the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, working directly with end users of high-end videoconferencing equipment and professional audio installations. Having been immersed in


the AV industry for over 20 years, Kallio has first-hand experience in every position along the life cycle of an AV project, from time as a repair technician to account management, new business development and sales engineering. Filling the area manager position for Greater China, Cheung will oversee all sales and installations in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. He brings more than a decade of collaborative team and project management skills to the role. In his previous positions at a consulting company

and more recently a system integrator, Cheung was the primary conduit for all current and incoming project information. He was responsible for project development and management, and he oversaw project


installations. Ensuring a quality customer experience was also part of his duties as he attended client project meetings and personally monitored on- site installation progress. “We couldn’t be happier

Harman Professional has recently introduced a strengthened regional sales office (RSO) sales management infrastructure in the US. The new organisation is led by Mark Posgay, senior director, US sales, Harman Pro (pictured). Based in Melbourne he will represent the company throughout south-east Asia, Japan, Korea, China, Indonesia as well as Australia and New Zealand. Belden brand Miranda Technologies has promoted Mario Lopez to president. Formerly the company’s senior vice president for infrastructure, routers and monitoring, Lopez is now responsible for all of the company’s operations worldwide and reports to Strath Goodship, Miranda’s chief executive officer. Audinate has announced the first phase of its global expansion, with the addition of a new manager of global support services based in its US headquarters in Portland, Oregon. Landon Gentry has joined Audinate to lead its worldwide support organisation, and will take particular responsibility for directly supporting US-based manufacturers of Dante- enabled products. Landon has experience in embedded system design and embedded networking technologies, most recently as engineering manager at ClearAccess. Jon Smith (pictured) has joined Stage Electrics as the company’s new service manager. He is taking over from Steve Chappell who held the role for more than 10 years. Chappell is moving into the newly created role of a full-time commissioning and design engineer, where he is responsible for lighting control system design and programming.
