IACC has more than 300 member conference centers in fi ve chapters: Australia, Denmark, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the Americas. IACC has additional members in other areas of the world that are currently not represented by chapters. IACC maintains a Quality Initiative within each


chapter to ensure that all members comply with IACC Quality Standards. This gives meeting professionals the assurance of obtaining the most productive meeting environment at any IACC member conference center around the world.


IACC is the single resource for continuing education and training for conference centre professionals. In addition to the highly acclaimed educational component of the chapter annual conferences, IACC throughout the year offers workshops specifi cally geared to the development, operation and marketing of conference centers. Certifi cate programs in conference planning and services and in conference sales are now in the planning stages with expected implementation in two years.

The International Pharmaceutical Congress Advisory Association is a non-profi t membership organisation focusing on congress management. It works to improve the standards and protocols within the industry and offers a range of services to member companies, for example training, code of conduct and guidelines.


Membership of the Association is open to internationally active healthcare companies engaged in medical congresses. All member companies must maintain a permanent healthcare-oriented research programme.


IPCAA represents in excess of 23 healthcare companies from around the world with its Code of Conduct and Guidelines seen as the basis for interactions between medical societies, congress organisers and the Healthcare Industry.

JMIC was established in 1978 to provide a communications link amongst international associations engaged in the Meetings Industry and a means of collectively reviewing industry conditions and strategies and has met for this purpose twice annually since then.


In 2003, JMIC commissioned a review of its role and the potential for


developing a more aggressive industry advocacy program to support its members in their efforts to raise overall industry awareness and appreciation. As a result, it developed a new program – the Profi le and Power Program – that was designed to both encourage and recognize initiatives to enhance the overall image of the industry and the economic and professional impacts it delivers.


JMIC consists of a number of international organizations who share a common interest and involvement in the Meetings Industry. The industry incorporates a series of segments which have in common the gathering of individuals for primarily business purposes and includes such activities as meetings, conventions, exhibitions, trade shows and corporate/incentive.

Since its formation in 1990, the mia has been encouraging the development and sharing of best practice for all organisations involved in the meetings industry. The association has developed into the offi cial body for organisations committed to improving the standards of the UK meetings industry.


The mia promotes the very highest standards and our members have all achieved accreditation with AIM. AIM is the industry’s only accreditation scheme, it demands legal compliance, a meetings facilities grading and includes adherence to the Meetings CODE (Consistency, Openness, Decency, Ethics) the code of practice recognised by the industry which exemplifi es the essence of good practice in the industry.


Our mission is to inspire the very highest standards of service and facilities throughout the UK meetings industry through the sharing of best practice and the setting and governing of standards.
