technology, faster bill-to-bill speed, improved barcode recognition and the increased capacity to accept up to 100 different currencies and denominations. SC Advance also has the industry’s best acceptance rate for valid street- grade notes, including those that are wet, crinkled or torn.

Because enhancements are localized to the

acceptor head, SC Advance can easily upgrade legacy CASHFLOW SC units, making it a more affordable upgrade. The company says more customers are now also implementing EASITRAX Soft Count, a product extension that expands the reach of note acceptors from the slot floor into the soft count room. The addition of EASITRAX to SC Advance or CASHFLOW SC creates a comprehensive software/hardware system designed to streamline the cash management process. Since it was introduced in 2008, EASITRAX Soft Count has been installed in nearly 80,000 games worldwide, a number projected to surpass 85,000 by the end of 2012.

Executive Director Marcus Prater reported that the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) has tripled its membership from 32 to 119 companies since 2008. The corporate, nonprofit trade group works closely with the American Gaming Association (AGA). Director of Europe Tracy Cohen is based in London. Prater says, “Few manufacturers in regulated jurisdictions are not AGEM members. Our newest members are peripheral companies in other business categories. As the machines go, so goes the supplier side.” Annual revenues determine the three yearly

dues levels: Gold ($10,000)- $150 million in sales Silver ($5,000)- $50-$150 million in sales Bronze ($2,500)- $0-$50 million in sales Since 2011, AGEM has participated in

regulatory and legislative events. Prater often accompanies groups to rework any language that impacts AGEM members. Together, they aim to improve the overall regulatory and legislative environment. Ohio is a recent example of how AGEM contributed to the final language for the four Ohio casino properties. “Earlier involvement is preferable. A smooth

project will be favorable to expansion,” Prater says.

GLI continues to create useful, thoughtful,

customer-oriented tools that streamline the submissions process, refining a complex and usually time-consuming (not to mention expensive) into something much more affordable, quicker and easier. Point.Click.Submit. is the tool to speed entrance into the testing process, for example;

Point.Click.Transfer. meanwhile, also saves time, money – and paperwork, as it allows a supplier to transfer previously certified submissions into other jurisdictions, all from your computer. Then there’s GLI Verify, a

tool that allows regulators to take the lab onto the gaming floor, enabling quick verification of games and systems in situ, so they know what’s on the floor is what was verified in the lab. The company says with this tool you can also generate SHA-1 signatures on files, folders, CD, CompactFlash and DVD. On top of this, the company also announced during the event that it was beta-testing GLiCloud, a cloud-based technology which will enable regulators to track the software and hardware on the gaming floor comprising slot machines, and relate their components to their regulatory approval status. An automated process, GLiCloud eliminates human error. GLiCloud is designed to link with GLI Mobile, allowing regulators to take the power of the GLI lab with them anywhere with real-time access to critical information.

For Novomatic G2E 2012 proved another major success, with an upswing in visitors and tangible business from across all the Americas: the Latin American continent and also the gaming States of the US itself. The AGI team were joined by Reel Games Inc. of Florida who have taken on the responsibility of introducing the Novomatic brand across the continental US. As you might expect, the Novomatic booth

was packed full of innovations with the majority of games shown in the two most popular Novomatic cabinets: the grand casino slant top NOVOSTAR SL and the very latest upright attraction Super-V+ Gaminator III. Extra wide screens for an in-depth gaming experience, elegant style and top quality design make these cabinets attractive highlights on every casino floor and provide the perfect housing for a thrilling game library. The games themselves provided many

attractions for G2E’s visitors. The Premium-V+ Gaminator multi-game mix encompassed a total of 41 Coolfire II games. The show machines were also connected to a Rise of the Dragon mystery jackpot for extra jackpot thrills. The latest Super-V+ Gaminator multi-game mixes (numbers 61 to 66 and 67) highlighted a multitude of different game themes and concepts to appeal to the widest range of

player preferences. The Novomatic Reel Tournament was

presented with the Super-V+ Gaminator Multi- Game-Mix T1. As an exciting marketing tool for all sorts of casino promotion programmes it allows operators to offer their guests – with the push of a button - live tournaments in real time on an unlimited number of connected machines. The system’s tournament controller makes it possible for the operator to choose from a variety of games and to offer different win modes, tournament settings and valuable promotional extras; and, most significantly, all without any software changes or game down time.

One of the highlights of the Las Vegas show

was a spectacular range of NOVOLINE games and systems: Single games, multi-games and multiplayers. The NOVO LINE INTERACTIVE games cover a great variety of thrilling themes. The system is server-based ready and ‘future proof’, providing an ideal basis for a later connection to a server-based gaming environment.

Jens Halle, Managing Director AGI, who has

recently undergone a strategic re-location to Fort Lauderdale in Florida was very satisfied with this year’s G2E show: “The Las Vegas show is traditionally one of the most important events of the annual show calendar and particularly now with this earlier and generally more convenient October date we expected to see a great number of business partners, customers and also new contacts in Las Vegas. I have to say that we were not disappointed! As we move ahead in intensifying our commitment to the US and Latin American regions, I am extremely encouraged by the customer response that we saw in Las Vegas. All of our team as well as our Latin American subsidiary representatives, our colleagues from Octavian and our US partner Reel Games reported many new contacts and business possibilities. Our task now is to follow up and ensure that these possibilities become realities and so strongly
