Bromsgrove based compressed air specialist Beko Technologies is opening a new advanced demonstration facility.

Nearly two years ago Beko

Technologies needed more space and after looking for new premises eventually decided to take a lease on the adjacent unit. After creating the new offices and having extended workshop and warehouse space, there was still a room surplus to requirements. Steve Riley, general manager said: “I had just visited my col- league in France and was impressed with the facilities organised for meeting clients. In particular there was a demonstra- tion facility where customers could measure dew points, oil contents down to 0.003ppm and see a catalytic converter in situ to

mention just a few of their options.”

Chris Norris UK Service Manager was tasked with installing a facility which could demonstrate all the key Beko products. This meant having: a larger compressor which was lubricated, so that the oil remov- ing products could be shown, dryers of the fridge and desiccant types and the condensate man- agement products. All had to be installed in such a way that the effects of individual components could be measured by plugging in the range of measurement devices in the Beko portfolio. The demonstration room opens this month and already a number of Beko clients have booked a session for training. www.beko-technologies.co.uk

Company enjoys sustained growth

Building on 25 years of success in the challenging control gear market, Blackburn-based motor control expert Ralspeed has reported a 20 per cent year-on- year sales growth over a 10-year period. In addition, the com- pany’s strong order book and the sustained high level of enquiries it is receiving indicate that its rate of growth is set to continue. As a result of the expansion in demand for its products and ser- vices, Ralspeed is increasing its workforce, adding one new spe- cialist to its control panel building team and also recruiting an apprentice who will have an out- standing opportunity to learn panel building skills that are cur- rently much in demand.

“The key to our on-going suc- cess is simple,” said Peter Schaffel, managing director of Ralspeed. “We listen to our cus- tomers, and we give them what they want. Ralspeed is a relatively small operation with a high level of in-house expertise and its own manufacturing capabilities. This means we can be much more flex- ible than most other suppliers in the sector.”
