Spirax Sarco White Paper

Anew White Paper from Spirax Sarco shows how Condensate,

the hot, treated water

steam users can save tens of thousands of pounds by improving their condensate recovery systems.

produced as steam releases its heat energy, is a valuable resource that contains up to 20% of the useful energy in the original steam. Recovering this energy can reduce fuel bills, cut water and effluent charges and lower spending on water treatment chemicals. The White Paper describes the technology involved in recovering this vital resource, including steam traps,

pumping technologies, boiler

blowdown, flash steam and its recovery, and the issues involved in pressurised low loss condensate recovery. Case studies demonstrate how real steam users have benefitted from these technologies in practice, showing the significant savings they have achieved. Spirax Sarco offers a full portfolio of the latest condensate recovery systems that help steam users reduce their utility bills and optimise their systems. The White Paper outlines these as well as giving advice on the financing of condensate recovery improvement projects.

BM has expanded its QuantumX universal measurement system with the MX840A series of modules that are designed to obtain

results rapidly and easily even when operating under the most challenging ambient conditions. The MX840AP modules conform to IP67 high protection class. They are not affected by vibration up to 10 g and jolting and other impacts up to 50 g during testing. To further

improve their suitability for getting results in really challenging conditions the modules can be used within an extended temperature range of between -35 °C and +80 °C. The modules have a modular construction in common with the rest of the QuantumX measurement system. This reduces installation cost as the modules can easily be distributed as needed in an application and are swiftly connected by a robust plug.

HBM is initially supplying four variations of the MX840AP modules to measure

practically all common measured quantities and match a wide range of sensors. The amplifiers are available with four, eight or 16 universal inputs and one module in the range is also available with four frequency inputs.

Typical applications are road test measurements, mobile machines, in the

marine sector and for general for outdoor measurements. HBM Ltd.

Norbar Australia management moves I

Advertorial

mportant structural changes to the management team at Norbar’s representative company in Australia are taking place that also affect Norbar companies in New Zealand and Singapore. Matt Packer is to become Managing Director of Norbar Torque Tools Pty, based in Adelaide, South Australia and with offices in Western Australia, Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales. He is to take over the position from his father Leigh Packer, who will remain Executive Director of the company and be able to devote more of his time to managing Norbar companies in New Zealand and Singapore.

The

transition is to take place on the 1st September, and is part of a long-term succession plan within the company. It comes at a time of

growth and strong financial results for Norbar throughout the region, with changes including moves to expanded premises in both Auckland New Zealand (Norbar Torque Tools (NZ) Ltd) and Singapore (Norbar Torque Tools Pte. Ltd). Norbar is a world leading specialist in the design, development and production of torque tightening and measuring equipment, exporting 75% of its output to markets worldwide.

Free Fluke Pressure Module or

ntil 31st December 2012, Fluke UK is offering a free Pressure Module or a free Fluke 700G Pressure Gauge to purchasers of a Fluke 753 or 754 Documenting Process Calibrator. The 753 and 754 feature an easy-to-follow, menu-driven display that guides users through tasks; the 754 is designed for easy field calibration of HART instruments. More information can be found by visiting www.fluke.co.uk/75Xoffer: a linking page enables purchasers to choose and claim a free tool. The Fluke 750 Series Documenting Process Calibrators offer programmable calibration routines enabling technicians to create and run automated as-found/as-left procedures to ensure fast, consistent calibrations. The recorded results can be easily downloaded to a PC via the USB port, eliminating the need for manual transcription. The Fluke 754 offers fast HART communication and requires no external box or secondary tool to perform everyday HART calibration and maintenance.

wo new large character printers from coding and marking specialist Linx Printing Technologies can cut production costs while maximising line uptime and print quality. The Linx IJ355 and IJ375 high definition case coders offer a cost-effective, easy to use alternative to other large character printers, and to the labelling or pre-printing of secondary packaging.

T Their innovative ReFRESH® ink

BM has launched version 3.3 of its popular catmanAP data acquisition and analysis software program. The enhanced version of the software focuses on being easy and intuitive to operate while offering extensive functionality. The software is suitable for a wide variety of measurement tasks because it includes a number of modules to improve its operational flexibility. For example, the new version features a revised user interface that makes typical tasks such as setting up automatic measurement sequences or analyzing measured data very clear and concise.

New data analysis functions have also been developed. In

fatigue tests, for example, the "classifying procedure" is ideal for graphically representing relevant material loads to estimate material fatigue. A load’s amplitudes and mean values are recorded, making it possible to represent their frequencies in a simple three-dimensional diagram. This analysis is even possible in real time, which makes it possible to compress data for long-term measurements immediately. The Advanced Cursor Graph for graphical analysis of measurement data has also been improved. Version 3.3 of catmanAP supports HBM’s entire range of measurement technology hardware.

recirculation system, robust design, and printhead protection technology mean significantly reduced downtime and savings on consumables.

The

patented ink recirculation system’s ReFRESH technology ensures premium print quality and also avoids wasted ink during printhead cleaning, thus saving time and money ordinarily wasted on purging procedures. Ink and dust that collect on the nozzles is removed with an air knife, an ink purge takes place, then ink from this procedure is collected, passed through a high performance filter to remove impurities from the system, and re-circulated. Operators only need to perform a quick simple maintenance on a regular basis in order to keep the printer in optimum operating condition.
