Sensors for hard-to-detect shapes Difficult shapes, flat or transpar-

ent objects that have previously defied reliable detection can now be seen clearly with new sensing solutions to be launched by Sick UK at the PPMA Show.

Sick has developed the new MultiLine sensor to ensure a stable and continuous detection signal from the leading to the trailing edge of a product, even when sur- faces are glossy, flat, or contoured. The MultiLine’s twin light- beam technology detects low- profile, uneven or glossy product surfaces for example, vacuum foil coffee packs, wrapped choco- late bars or soup sachets. Sick will also be displaying its W27-3 MultiPac, a single-unit optical sensor, while in a show special, visitors are being offered a free Inspector vision sensor, or a free first annual support con-

lenging 1D linear barcodes and 2D Data Matrix codes for indexed or high-speed lines and tThe DataMan 200 fixed mount and DataMan 8000 wireless handheld series.
