Introducing TACCA
TACCA (The Approved Carpet Cleaners Association) is an exciting new trade association for UK-based carpet cleaners that has been going from strength to strength since launching in September 2011.
After realising there are passionate carpet cleaners right across the UK - dedicated to what they do and delivering a consistently high quality service – but still seeing customers viewing most carpet cleaning companies as equals, TACCA was formed by Derek West, who explains: “We needed a badge that could distinguish between the everyday, untrained carpet cleaner using underpowered equipment, from those committed professionals who put their life and soul into what they do. We also needed a passionate movement behind the badge, striving to help association members and educate the public about the implications of choosing providers who are not properly trained or equipped to deliver a quality service.”
interactive postcode map search system; which enables the general public to instantly contact a member based on proximity to their specific postcode. With a further 200 businesses who have registered their interest but not yet submitted an application, the association already covers the entire UK and will soon be able to offer an unbeatable level of service coverage for UK consumers.
As you might expect, for a trade association dedicated to raising service quality and public understanding of the carpet cleaning industry, strict criteria for joining TACCA was the number one priority for maintaining standards and encouraging the public’s trust. With free membership and administrative costs covered by online advertising, the association only accepts members after thorough vetting and confirmation of the strict membership criteria, which includes full insurance, high performance extraction equipment, training certificates and a commitment to ongoing training.
Just six months after forming, the association already has 170 fully approved and vetted members appearing on the TACCA website’s
Dedicated carpet cleaning service providers, whether sole traders, franchises or ex- franchisees, should register their interest with the website (
www.TACCA.co.uk) and then submit an online application with details of their business. If approved, new members are encouraged to use TACCA badges and branding to emphasise their commitment to ongoing training and a dedication to customer satisfaction, as well as completing a business profile on the website. TACCA is also accepting associate member applications from carpet cleaning equipment and training providers, once vetted and endorsed by currently approved members - these associate companies are listed as preferred providers, along with offering special discounts to members of TACCA.
Future plans for TACCA include the introduction of a membership fee, which would go entirely towards the promotion of the organisation and national TV advertising, aimed at educating the public about the pitfalls of choosing under- qualified cleaning providers. Unlike many other trade associations, TACCA is determined to become a driving force behind the improvement of service quality in the UK and to proactively promote and market their members, alongside nurturing a vibrant online community via the

Whilst there is no doubt that new marketing channels have opened up opportunities to advertise online, TACCA’s management intend to bring this to a new level, embracing digital and considering any possibilities available to further the success of their members. As an example, the TACCA website currently has a system whereby members can pass on contracts and work to other members, completely reassured that their business reputation will be upheld by the company who receives the work - in effect high criteria for membership enables a level of trust and collaboration that mutually benefits every single member across the UK.
So what are you waiting for? Get behind this fantastic new association or at least register interest and look into the requirements for joining - TACCA is here to set a new standard for service quality and customer trust in the UK.
