come back to Okla- homa,” Risley, who is a member of Tri-County Electric Cooperative, said. “We had the help of several people to move him back and in- stall him.”

Shop lifted him into place. Fred Risley and Leroy Randolph also assisted in placing him on his concrete pad. Tri-County Electric Cooperative’s serviceman Ray Damron helped by connecting him to electricity for his motor. Museum volunteer Alton McCune pre- pared the concrete pad and coordinated efforts. Mc- Cune also fi xed the Tin Woodman’s hat, which was badly bent.

The Tin Woodman may not have a heart but the community has one for him.

“The Tin Woodman now stands in front of the museum to greet anyone who passes by,” Risley said.

And Morris is glad the Tin Woodman found a home at a museum where he will be cared for.

“If we just left him down there at Log Cabin Corner, he would have gotten ruined,” Morris said.

“I’m glad he’s in a museum.” Morris and his wife Jody Morris fi rst heard the Tin Woodman was back in Oklahoma through Oklahoma Living’s Guess Where! contest.

And that’s how the Tin Man found his home at the Cimarron Heritage Center museum in Boise City, Okla. OL

The Tin Woodman—a replica of the character in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz—was built in 1989 by John “Pete” Morris. It was built to serve as an attraction for the family’s Log Cabin Corner cafe and gas station near Laverne, Okla.

clean indoor air

Many of the greatest cities around us have clean indoor air.

It’s time we catch up. Oklahoma communities are great places to live and should have every chance to be competitive in the region for jobs. Oklahoma communities should have the right to choose to have clean indoor air in public places and workplaces.

Clean indoor air… It’s good for health and great for business.
