This follows an assessment of the car parking facilities by the police assessor and safer parking scheme development manager, Ian Carmichael. ‘We are all aware of the current economic situation and the restrictions which local authorities are under, but Steve Barnes, Dacorum

parking development manager, and his team have ensured that a safer environment has been provided. I would personally like to congratulate them all for their efforts,’ said Carmichael.

Steve Barnes, parking development manager at Dacorum Borough Council, said: ‘By choosing a Park Mark-accredited parking facility, motorists are visiting a car park that has been vetted by the police and has measures in place to create a safer environment for motorists and vehicles.’

The parking team responsible for the 200-space car parking facilities at Brentwood Community Hospital has been re-awarded a Park Mark for the third year running. Safer Parking Scheme development manager, Mike Bibby, praised the management practices of hotel services manager, Shirley Leathers, and her team, saying the North Essex NHS car park was always clean and well looked after. He

also highlighted the electronic surveillance and lighting systems that contributed to good security.

‘This facility is an excellent example of what can be achieved on a hospital site,’ said Bibby. ‘Any issues are kept to the absolute minimum as a result of the diligence of the security and the work of the hotel services manager. I would like to congratulate all involved for their efforts.’
