SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH PLANNED IN BELFAST
A joint British Parking Association (BPA) and Irish Parking Association (IPA) meeting hosted by the BPA Northern Ireland Group will take place at the site of the Titanic’s historic launch 100 years ago.
But this is not a venture doomed to failure as this Spring Exhibition and Meeting, sponsored by Advanced Parking Solutions and Euro Car Parks Ireland marks a return to parking matters in Ireland for the BPA. One of its key directives over the next few years is to reinforce its partnerships with the IPA and its members and re-engage with BPA members in Northern Ireland (NI) and the Republic, as well as promoting the benefits of membership to a potential new audience.
Speakers at the iconic Belfast venue will include Danny Kennedy MLA, Minister for Regional
Richardson, of the Department of Regional Development Roads Service NI will give a presentation on the NI/ Republic of Ireland cross border pilot scheme on vehicle keeper details. BPA chief executive
Patrick Troy and director of Membership Services Jane Hack will be speaking about the recent BPA member consultation and asking delegates from Northern Ireland for input into the future of the BPA.
There will be opportunities for attendees to meet exhibitors, as well as join an optional tour of the historic building.

It is time for the annual elections for the BPA Council. This introduces a fresh dynamic to the council and its decision making. If you are interested in helping drive the BPA’s strategic direction or lobbying government on burning issues, then council is for you. The BPA Council is made up of 25 members and contribute to the overall shape of today’s parking sector as we know it. A Council member’s term of office is three years. If you wish to stand for election, your nomination must be supported by at least three

separate BPA members – a proposer and two seconders.
Once we have received all nominations, an election will be held in which members of the BPA will be able to vote for the candidates they feel best represent their views.
