Shanghai prepares for the biggest chinaplas to date


close to 95,000 visitors attended last year’s chinaplas event in Guangzhou – 15% more than the 2010 show - making it one of the world’s biggest and fastest growing meeting points for plastics and rubber processors. this year it is Shanghai’s turn to host the event - which runs from 18-21 April 2012 – and with all 17 exhibition halls at the city’s new international expo centre in use to house more than 2,600 exhibitors, the show organisers are expecting to set yet another attendance record. with expectations of a turnout of at least 100,000,


chinaplas organiser Adsale exhibition Services has implemented a strict visitor management programme. over the first two days of the show only pre-registered visitors and badge holders will be able to enter via the main Hall 1 entrance between 09:00 and 11:00. So if you are attending the show be sure you pre-register (you can do this at the show website). while predominantly an event for the chinese


plastics industry, chinaplas also attracts a considerable number of overseas visitors. last year, overseas attendees made up slightly more than 20% of all the

total visitor numbers. Almost 70% of these visitors came from the Asian region, with Hong Kong, india, Korea, taiwan and japan showing the largest attend- ances. looking further afield, around 11% of overseas attendees came from the Middle east, 9% from europe, and 7% from America. Adsale expects to see a similarly strong international


attendance in Shanghai, saying it has already taken visitor registrations from more than 120 different
