Laurie Jury has a simple dream ahead of his first full year


as a tour card holder on the Alpari World Match Racing Tour – to upset a few of the old guards. Te New Zealander will be the first to admit his team will


struggle to win races this year, but is confident of giving the more established skippers a run for their money. “Tis is our first time on the world tour so we don’t have


high expectations. We are really looking to improve through the season and hopefully achieve a few upsets,” said 29-year- old Jury, who was encouraged to take up sailing by his parents. “Te team has been working hard towards getting a tour


card for the past three years and it is a dream come true to finally get the chance.” Jury, who won the ISAF Nations Cup Grand Final Open


in September, is one of five new tour card holders on the Alpari World Match Racing Tour this season. Te first race of the year is Match Race Germany in May.
