playing Saints Roware males, and a quarter of all players of the brand are males aged 20-24. 21 per cent of players are aged 10- 14 despite the age restrictions of the game. The Xbox 360 is the more popular platform for this brand, with 45 per cent of
players. 25 per cent of players use the PS3. Saints Rowcaters for a range of gamers’ tastes. The dominating motivations for play are ‘involvement in a story’, ‘violence’ and ‘character development’, with 24 per cent choosing each as a key factor for enjoying the game. Saints Rowover-indexes on the motivations of ‘combat’, ‘fantasy life’ and ‘being a hero’. It is not however seen as a popular game to play for short doses, as it under- indexes on ‘makes me laugh’ and ‘playing for short periods’. With Saints Row 4 rumoured to already be in development, more focus on the violence and story can grow this unique brand even further.
