OFF THE RECORD

This week, Deep Silver holds a Catherine launch party at a strip club and a Spice Girl infiltrates 2K Games’ latest shooter The Darkness II. Plus, I Love, #FollowFriday and more memories from past MCV Awards

WHAT A BUNCH OF TITS In case you didn’t see the lengthy discussions/arguments on Twitter, Deep Silver held an official launch party for Catherinelast week – at a strip club. Sorry, gentleman’s club.

The publisher took over London’s Platinum Lace to give journalists and retailers the chance to try out the game – which follows a 32-year-old man that spends all his time on computers and doesn’t know how to talk to women. That has games industry written all over it.

Girls dressed as titular character (no pun intended) Catherine posed with journalists –some of which tried to look like they didn’t want to be there. Don’t worry, lads. MCV doesn’t judge – but we will take pics and publish them in our weekly magazine.

GERI SPICES UP THE DARKNESS

Former Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell launched a new range of clothing last week based on her iconic Union Jack dress – and she also makes an appearance in The Darkness II.

Pictured to the right is Geri (minus make-up but plus ginger cat beanie) as a Darkling from 2K Games’ upcoming supernatural shooter.

Obscure cameo or viral marketing ploy? We say: both. RETAIL ADVISORY BOARD MCV takes soundings from its Retail Advisory Board on the biggest issues in
