NABTET- The National Agency for Beauty Therapy Education and Training - has appointed a new President - Annette Gaynor, and General Secretary - Nicola Murphy.
The new appointments replace Linda Wright and Carina Fagan respectively, who have stepped down from their positions. Carina remains as course lecturer, along with Maria McCarthy, joined by a number of new lecturers.

Salons who take on TanOrganic sunless tan can undertake training in spray tan techniques at Skinlogic’s training school in Co. Kildare.
Courses are run on a monthly basis, and involve a combination of both theory and practical application. Upon completion of the course, therapists are fully educated on the ingredients of TanOrganic 100% certified natural and organic sunless tan and will be able to perform a professional spray tan.

Increased opportunities in cosmetic retail
Linda Ennis and the Beauty Academy have introduced an Advanced Retail Course designed for post-graduate beauty and make-up students.
The course entails training in advanced cosmetic science, advance skin care, make- up techniques, traffic stopping, event planning, customer service, consultation techniques and selling skills. It has been created to arm you better for the world of cosmetic retail which differs to the training required for salon work.
Graduates of this course will also be considered to join The Beauty Academy Advisory Panel - a team of consultants who will undertake promotional work for cosmetic companies in department stores, event launches, wedding services, debs services, fashion shows and women’s events.

Newiiaa trainer appointed
The International Institute for Anti-Ageing (iiaa) has appointed Jenn Rock as Trainer for Ireland, to provide Advanced Nutrition Programme, Environ and Jane Iredale courses.
Based at the Dublin training centre, Jenn will undertake the role as maternity cover for Annette Coyle.
Jenn is a talented make-up artist and will also host master classes and makeover events to support stockists of the mineral make-up brand. She is a former skin care clinic manager and experienced therapist who was placed second in the All Ireland Beauty Therapy Skills compeititon.
