Then apply a colour gel, of your client’s choice to the nail and cure. Afterwards, buff the nail, and ensure there is no product left underneath the silk.
It is important to use strong glue or resin and the correct products to avoid lifting to your client’s enhancement.
Hennessy Hair and Beauty have a range of The Edge silk and fibreglass systems that give great results with a beautiful finish.
The Edge collection includes a fibreglass and silk Activator Spray, Resin for both silk and fibreglass and Nail Wrap Dispensers.

If your client opts for a Pre-Cut silk wrap where gel is used below the smile line then Bio Sculpture Gel can be used.
The Bio Sculpture sculpting gel is initially applied underneath the newly formed silk free edge to strengthen and prevent fraying. Once cured, use Sculpture tweezers to shape and secure a barrelled C-curve into a perfect concave curve.
Use a small amount of Bio Sculpture clear gel on the silk to flatten it near the nail plate then once cured apply a thin layer of Clear Base gel onto the nail plate ensuring that it is about two millimetres away from the cuticle.
The key point to remember is that if your client has weak nails, fibreglass systems will be more suitable as they are much stronger and less delicate than silk wraps so ensure to evaluate the strength of your clients’ nails before choosing on the style of wrap.

Try not to touch the material too often with your fingers as this causes contamination and can weaken the adhesion factor.
8) Cut a strip to fit the nail. 9) Cut off the corners.
10) Peel off and place on the nail, leaving a little bit hanging over the free edge.
11) Apply the resin and let it air dry.
12) Apply resin and spray with activator spray.
