Surviving the recession

When times are tough, money is short and life is not easy, we all need a little ‘pick me up’ and what better than treating ourselves to a lovely set of beautiful nails that will cheer us up, make us feel good and put a smile back on our faces!

Women will always find the extra pennies for that little treat, and nails are top of the list, because they are visible and we feel great when people notice and comment on our lovely nails.

Nails are one of the few parts of a person where it is not required to look in a mirror to see what they look like; nails allow women to see beauty at their fingertips.

How do you choose a nail product?

Choose a product that you are 100% sure will be good for the nail plate. Don’t just select the cheapest product or the most convenient, make sure the product you choose is well investigated and that the company is well established and has a good reputation.

Surviving today’s economic challenges

• Don’t cut your marketing, now is the time to step it up. Just because there is a recession, it does not mean your services are not needed.

• Maintain good, quality service, giving your clients value that is worth every penny of their hard earned money.

• Have a customer loyalty programme in place, reward regular customers with freebies and discounts. This is a great way to say ‘Thank You’ for their business.

• Throw in a free hand massage, make your clients feel pampered. Over delivering on your services and giving customers more than what they expected is a great way to create value and worth.

• If you are quiet, call up past clients you have not seen in a while and invite them back for their favourite service at a discount.

• E-mail clients with ‘weekly specials’ to entice them to come in.

• Stay focused and motivated, just being a little proactive will help you and your business get through these rough economic times.

The good news is that nail polish has over taken lipstick as the top selling recession- proof beauty product. Whatever the reasons, ladies can’t seem to get enough nail polish - ladies love their nails!
