With a record 6,000 salons, health clubs and Spas around the world being supplied with CACI treatment systems, it’s evident that CACI has become a big name in the beauty industry. With a celebrity following too, the brand must be doing something right! Irish Beauty takes CACI to task on the ‘then’ and ‘now’ of such a huge brand...

Back in 1992, technology was becoming big news, with Windows stepping up a gear and launching its 3.1 version. Even then, very few households actually owned a computer, and yet amongst all this, an entrepreneur saw an opportunity to break into the beauty industry with a new technology that would offer a non- surgical facial and revolutionise how we saw the beauty industry - the CACI Mk1.

Originally developed by Dr Thomas Wing, the first CACI system was used for treating Bells Palsy (facial paralysis). CACI International’s founder, Dean Nathanson, saw a gap in the market to launch the system as an advanced

non-surgical cosmetic treatment to the beauty industry. The CACI brand has now become synonymous with the Non-Surgical Facelift.

“The original CACI system was developed by Dr Thomas Wing in the US,” says Dean Nathanson. “The CACI brand was trademarked, developed and is still owned by CACI International, a UK company that manufacture all the CACI systems in the UK.”

CACI systems are now placed in some of the top Spas and health clubs around the world, including Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Champneys, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salons, Estee Lauder Spa, Four Seasons Hotels, and Ritz Carlton Hotels, to name just a few.

Making an impact all around the world, Pink Distribution re-launched CACI in Ireland in May 2010 with the introduction of the award winning CACI Amino Lift serum and the latest multifunctional CACI Ultimate system.

Celebrity favourite

Celebrities are often the first to try out a new, exclusive treatment before the rest of the world get to hear about it. Today, the CACI Non-Surgical Facelift system has an enviable celebrity following, including the likes of Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Linda Evangelista and Cliff Richard, most of who can be seen endorsing the systems on CACI’s adverts.

Going right back to the beginning, Princess Diana was a firm believer in the results that the system could offer and Dean remembers one of the funniest moments for the team was back when she was a client. “In the early days of the brand we were very honoured to have Princess Diana as a CACI client and one day, when she was in the London CACI clinic having a treatment, the clinic was besieged by paparazzi. We were shocked and also amused to hear the beautiful Princess using terrible expletives basically telling the paparazzi to go forth and multiply. She truly was the Princess of the people,” remembers Dean.
