TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
The Health Foundation has select- ed the latest 18 senior healthcare professionals for the GenerationQ programme, which aims to cre- ate effective leaders to improve the quality of healthcare they can provide.
The 18-month programme fo- cuses on leadership development and improvement science, and of- fers an integrated set of activities including forums, workshops and one-to-one coaching.
Penny Pereira, assistant director at the Health Foundation, said: “GenerationQ will develop leaders who can tackle structural and fi - nancial challenges, recognise and use the current uncertainties in the NHS as a source for innova- tion, lead others in change when resources are being cut and peo- ple are feeling under pressure and make informed choices that help to improve quality.
“The programme will enable these leaders to understand how they can maintain a focus on quality improvement, as in these diffi cult times it is more important than ever to have GenerationQ, so that quality improvement will always remain a priority.”
GenerationQ, launched in 2010, is run by the Health Foundation with Ashridge Consulting and Unipart Expert Practices.
Ashridge consultant Janet Small- wood added: “We look forward to helping develop some tangible outcomes for the healthcare pro- fessionals as well as adding to leadership knowledge within the healthcare sector.”
The third round of fellows will be announced in June 2012.
