as a specialist nurse and Mike was working in pharmaceutical sales and marketing. With Home Instead, we liked the idea of a more personal and people-focused business and also knew we would get a lot of support from the franchisor. We found it good to combine our skills and knowledge and this really helped us when we set up in January 2007.
What have you gained by taking on a franchise? It’s a very rewarding business, it’s not easy but you can achieve a great level of personal satisfaction from it. It’s always great when you hear positive feedback from people; it helps to keep you motivated. It’s very rewarding to be able to affect lives in a positive way and we feel very privileged to do so.
What do you think your success is down to?
Our success is down to three factors: drive and passion, a desire to provide the best possible service and the fact that our business is based on an operating model that is tried and tested and has been refi ned over 16 years of continuous growth.
