Lettings franchise scoops prestigious award

n Lettings franchise Martin and Co has been awarded ‘Franchisor of the Year’ at the recent Negotiator Awards.

The annual awards celebrate

entrepreneurialism and innovation in the residential estate agency sector. The company – no strangers to winning awards, having entered this award category twice before and winning on both occasions – has 170 plus offices UK-wide.

Franchise director Scott Burgess commented: “It is a tribute to the hard work, dedication, and passion of all staff, but more than that, it is a reflection of the proven systems and process already in place. After all that’s what franchising is all about – enabling our letting

businesses to prosper even in these competitive times.

“The franchise network has let 8,000

properties this year that we have never let before, combined with our strong web presence and investment in online technologies, it is really paying dividends. Most recently an already successful independent letting agent in Gainsborough, North Lincolnshire – trading under the Sargents brand and established for 20 years – identified their need for additional operational, business and marketing support for their ambitious growth plans and turned to a Martin and Co franchise as the right solution for their business.” To find out more visit www. propertyfranchise.co.uk.

call for free estimates. “We had a few prototypes to choose from, but this design won an overwhelming thumbs-up from the majority of our franchisees, who voted for the silver background with clean simple branding at our Annual National Conference last March.”

He added: “Everyone is delighted with the new livery and our franchisees can’t wait to update their vehicles. New franchisees will, of course, get the latest-style vehicle, bearing their own name and contact details, straightaway.”

n Bathroom specialist, Bathstore, is expanding its number of franchises over the next nine months. Bathstore, which has 167 stores nationwide, currently operates 41 franchises and is looking to increase this number in the next year. John Davies, head of franchise, said: “Franchising is a very important part of Bathstore’s overall business and has been proven and established over the last 10 years to ensure franchises are successful and profitable, even in a tougher economic environment. This is evident in the fact that a number of new Bathstore franchises have opened in the last 12 months. “The greatest compliment we have is that, so far, 14 of our existing franchisees have decided to open a second franchise for themselves. “With bathroom interiors becoming

more and more important to the British public, coupled with the fact that Bathstore has one of the most attractive franchising models available, the opportunity to be a Bathstore franchisee has never been more appealing. “We are continually looking to

improve our estate and develop in areas of growth. If you have found an area where you believe Bathstore would thrive and are keen to start a franchise, we will work with you to identify the potential opportunity in that area.”
